A design system transforms scientific data on 5,500 rare diseases into unique visual identities, addressing the lack of information and support for patients with rare conditions. The Identity Builder creates a unique symbol for each disease, increasing visibility and facilitating connections between patients and doctors.
Based on the rd map dataset published by Yang J., Dong C., li h., et al. (2021), the Identity Builder translates over 30,000 data points across 5 variables into visual elements like shape, icons, color, texture, and composition.
