Hi there. I’m a Brazilian-Portuguese creative from Porto Alegre, a city in southern Brazil with almost two million people, excellent barbecue, dramatic weather, and a population genetically programmed to debate things with passion.
That might explain why I’ve never been great at standing still. My curiosity has taken me across three continents and shaped a career built between Brazil, Portugal, and the U.S. Along the way, one thing became clear to me: an idea only really matters when it leaves the page and becomes something people can feel, remember, and respond to.
That belief has guided my work for two decades, building brands and leading teams across different markets and cultures. My career was forged in the consumer world, where I spent years focused on how narratives move through culture, earn attention, and create impact. Today, I bring that same thinking to health at Area 23 in New York. I don’t believe in “pharma ideas.” I believe in strong, provocative concepts that happen to live in healthcare and deserve the same creative rigor as any iconic brand.
I’m currently an SVP Creative Director leading The Refinery, a group dedicated to raising the level of the agency’s most important work through craft, design, and execution. This focus on how ideas are made has contributed to consistent recognition for Area 23, including consecutive Cannes Lions Healthcare Agency of the Year titles, Top 3 rankings at D&AD, The One Show, and ADC, and in 2026, placements as the 8th most creative agency in WARC and 6th in The Drum’s World Creative Ranking.
Across my career, I’ve been part of work recognized with more than 400 international awards. More recently, I was ranked 7th Art Director at Cannes Lions in 2024, 5th Creative Director in The One Club Global Ranking in 2025, and 10th globally in The Drum’s 2026 ranking. One milestone stands out: contributing to Portugal’s first Cannes Lions Grand Prix.
I’ve learned that while accolades are rewarding, the best way forward remains simple: work smart, get things done, and be kind. Outside the office, I’m a father, a decent guitar player, and a terrible pianist. I remain curious, always looking for the next great idea.
